My Oh My

My it's been along time. My computer was down for pretty much all of the summer, so doing any "computerized digital" scrapping was not getting done. Then what do you know, school started and I was asked if I wanted to take a part-time position working as an Aide in the elementary school. Being paid for 3 hours a day is not a bad deal. Pays for coffee, scraps and whatever else makes Sharon happy:)

I'll try and catch up with the scrapping. Deanna just had a baby and is still at it. I don't know how she does it. I can't even keep up with the laundry. Maybe I'll play with the next kit she creates:) so stay tuned......

Home Grown

I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend. This is the week I usually go outside and plant my herbs and annuals. Deanna at Flowerscraps designed a cute "home grown" kit. Perfect for layouts if you have garden/flower pics or babies that are growin'. Really you can use if for anything. I like all the colors. I did two lo's using pictures of my kids picking apples.

NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY

Tomorrow is a National Holiday----National Scrapbook day!!!!
Stuff to Scrap is doing a HUGE part at the forum with lots of prizes and stuff. As part of the flowerscraps CT we had the opportunity to be part of this. We will be doing lots of special challenges just for that day and Speed Scraps and stuff. We all put together 5x7 pages for a brag book with the May collab from all the designers.

Well, here it is, my Sunday Evening Post.

Here is a layout I did using a kit from Flowerscraps called "Memories of the Orient" which will be available in the store at One Single Seed. Deanna did a fantastic job designing with the colors she choose to do an oriental theme. I had my mom dig up an old picture of when she and my dad dressed up for Halloween. A Trip to Washington DC

Hello. Hope everyone had a happy easter. My husband and I took the kids to D.C. over their school break and enjoyed all the museums, especially the American History museum. It was very croweded but well worth seeing. We also paid our respects to the fallen at Arlington National cemetary. What a beautiful place. It would be nice to see all cemetaries kept in the same condition as the National one. I think our kids had the most fun using the subway system and jumping over the puddles on the Mall.

We did walk the entire day which was great for me.........MORE Marathon is this weekend:)

Hello,

I haven't posted anything b/c there is just so much going on. Trying to help my kids study for all kinds of tests at school; school projects; not to mention that they are participating in a variety show at school. Lots of stuff!

Deanna at Flowerscraps also has lots going on. She took part in the DDBN blog train and came up with a beautiful kit collab for "Fairytale wedding" you have to check it out. Below is my layout using her kit. This is definitely one of my favorites, b/c the photo I took of my daughter just captures her true innocence. I have also added the metal frame as my Freebie add-on contribution. So grab it here if you like it:)

On another note....I'm so behind... Deanna did another kit called "snakes and snails" so if you have boys running around the house, this kit is what you may be looking for. It's really cute. I used it to capture my sons boyscout ceremony. He crossed over the bridge and received his arrow of light award.

Waiting for Spring

Is Spring here yet? I know for a fact that it hasn't hit N.J. yet. It's still cold and snowy. I've been waiting and waiting for some warmer air to come my way so I can see my daffodils bloom. As you know, I'm a CT member for Flowerscrap and it's always exciting to see what Deanna has come up with when she designs her kits. This month....since we can't wait for spring to arrive, she has made a real pretty kit for the spring season. It's perfect for Easter too. Happy Valentines Week everyone! I hope you all have something romantic planned. I can't say that I have. Right now our family plans for Saturday is to go to Ryan's Blue and Gold dinner. He will be crossing over the bridge to become a boyscout. We are so proud of him. I have to help him make a dessert. It's a Carnival theme. Any suggestions or ideas would be great.

Hello, just checking in. My dogs are barking! Literally. My feet hurt from walking 5 miles and right now Allie is outside barking at something or someone. Just want to let you know Im trying to design some kits. One is for valentines day. I hope to get that to you soon.
My son is an inline aggressive skater and wanted to scrap some pictures of him and have nothing skate related, except for all my hybrid stuff in the basement. I guess I can scan the stuff, but my scanner is like a fax machine....not a flat top...bummer:( If anyone has any skater boy stuff, I'd like to see it.

A Yummy Valentines Day Celebration

Did you ever look at something and say to yourself, "boy, that looks good enough to eat!" Well, look no further. Deanna has pulled out all the stops and made a delicious treat for Valentines Day. Lucky me, being on her CT, allowed me to have first dibbs--along with the rest of the team, to put together LO's for her kit.

Here is mine. I couldn't resist using a picture of my three children holding hands on the beach. It just shows off the brotherly sisterly love connection.

Are You Crazy for Paisley?

I love paisley designs! Do you? I was passing some time away inbetween laundry and cleaning and trying to see what I can come up with design wise. Friendship Award

Good morning. Just came back from the gym. I've been training for the MORE half Marathon that will take place on April 26th in Central Park (NYC). This is the first time I have ever participated in something like this and I'm very excited. Although I do exercise and workout on a regular basis, knowing that your actually training for an event is a totally different mind set.

On another note, Deanna Jones at Flowerscraps has just awarded me with a friendship award. (Deanna, thank you so much--it really made my day) Please check her blog regularly. She makes beautiful kits to play with. And guess what! Since this is a friendship award I get to pass it on as well. I would like to give it to Dixie Douville. Although not into digital scrapping, but she is in charge of the "Girl Friends in Training" , the group in which I will be participating with in the MORE half marathon. By just talking with Dixie, you really get inspired.

Winter Spell

I think old man winter has casted his spell.....Twice!!!!

Why twice you ask?

1. Here in NJ it's a balmy 8 degrees---not as bad as Minnesota.

And

2. Deanna at Flowerscraps had put together a huge kit titled "Winter Spell". Yes, it's a freebie!! She is giving it away in 2 parts because it is so big. She had lots of fun making it, as I had lots of fun creating layouts with it.

This year our family had decided to make a homemade ice-skating rink in our backyard. It's easy, and it's not. After filling it, it froze nicely. But then we had sleet and snow mixed making a bumpy surface. Last night, knowing how cold it was going to be, we added more water. Any whoo, here are layouts I made skating on the rink after the first fill. Don't forget to check out the kit.

Baby It's Cold Outside

Some of you may be enjoying nice warm weather depending on where you live. Well, here in New Jersey, it's mostly cold. Then one day, it can be 50 or 60. Then in a blink of an eye, we are back to the 30's. This is why we are always sick with colds. You always have to dress in layers. I'm either cold or hot. Put a sweater on; take a sweater off.

Deanna at Flowerscrap put together a real nice kit for those "Frostee" days. Frostee is also part of a winter themed train by the ladies at ADSD.

Here is a layout I did with a picture of my daughter trying to snowboard down the side of our yard. I also created the same layout as a quick page for you to enjoy. You can check out the entire kit at Flowerscrap. Deanna did an excellent job!! Makes you want to cozy up in a blanket and some hot chocolate.

Has everyone been thinking about their New Years resolutions yet? I think mine will be to work off some of the christmas cookies and to scrap, scrap, scrap (in-between the laundry of course)

What do you think of the colors red and orange? I've been playing around with a new NewYears kit from Deanna that she just released and the color scheme is gorgeous. And her elements.......just love'm. Pins, clips, disco balls.....lots of stuff. Here is a layout that I created and also two quick pages. If you use the qp, let me know what you think. Merry Christmas Eve

Ho, Ho, Ho.

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

This morning my daughter Megan was practicing her piano lesson and it was just so nice to hear christmas music being played in the house "live". I wanted to share it all with you to bring cheer to the season. Megan is 10 years old and this is her 3rd year playing the piano and loves it.

I took the video early this morning, so she is in her bathrobe:)lol

On that note (no pun intended), again, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I'll be back right after Christmas for some freebie news!!!!

Christmas Freebie Kit

Well, tomorrow we are supposed to have a snow storm....up to 12 inches of snow. The kids are wearing their pajamas inside out to help aid in the miracle of a school cancellation. That can make for some good inspiration for designing

Birthday Invitation

Just checking all my e-mails and finally had time to open the ones that are either jokes, poems, etc....This one called the Birthday Invitation was just so beautiful that I would like to share it with all of you. It's one of those things that when you read it, it sends you chills, happiness and it made me think of grandparents who have passed on and are probably celebrating Jesus' life everyday just like this invitation. Such a Newbie

What a morning so far. Now that I got the hang of digital scrapbooking, I thought I'd also start my own blog and maybe show off some of my work. I am having such a tough time trying to add Blinkies to my page. So if anyone out there wants to share some information with me that would be just terrific. I know right now my blog looks totally empty, but today I'm going to try to make some papers and doodads for the holidays to share. Oh yeah, do you like the Layout above? I just did that yesterday for the December Quote Challenge at Stone Accents. I also used all of their products. I beleive it was called Holiday Glitz if I remember correctly. If I'm wrong---apologies all around.
